Projects

What is the aim?

Jean Monnet Projects support innovation, knowledge-sharing, and communication on European issues.

What is the opportunity?

Erasmus+ provides the opportunity for organisations to manage projects in three core fields:

  • Innovation – projects that explore new angles and methodologies to promote European affairs
  • Cross-fertilisation – projects to promote discussion, analysis, and raise awareness of European affairs
  • Spread content – projects that focus primarily on sharing information and communicating

There are a broad range of activities that can be carried out, from the design and development of education materials and tools to the organisation of events. More examples are available in the Erasmus+ Programme Guide.

How does it work?

The opportunity is open to higher education institutions, as well as other organisations, active in the field of European Affairs established in any country worldwide (with the exception of primary and secondary educational establishments, who may not apply but may contribute to the realisation of activities).

It is not open to the designated European institutions (identified in the Regulation establishing the Erasmus+ programme) pursuing an aim of European interest.

Higher education institutions from Programme Countries must hold a valid Erasmus Charter for Higher Education.

Organisations must apply individually, although projects can include other organisations at a later stage.

Projects should last from 12-24 months.

What else should you know?

The applicant is responsible for developing a clear, sustainable strategy supported by a detailed work plan and, if selected for funding, are expected to implement the activities as described.

The role of any other participating organisations, as well as the need for the activities and the direct and indirect beneficiaries should be specified in the application.

How do you apply?

Organisations interested in applying should do so through the Education, Audiovisual, and Culture Executive Agency.
